Full Professor of Nanotechnology at King Abdulaziz University & Highly Cited Researcher
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Memic has been directly involved in establishing a cutting-edge nanotechnology research center from scratch that now has over 25 million dollars of new infrastructure and has become a world recognized entity. His multidisciplinary research spans bioengineering, polymer chemistry, and nanotechnology and has produced close to 100 published or submitted works and 19 provisional/granted US patents. He joined King Abdulaziz University in 2010, recently being academically promoted to Full Professor of Nanotechnology. He previously held various positions at top-ranking institutions including a Lecturer on Medicine at Harvard Medical School, a Teaching Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He is a Highly Cited Researcher given to only 0.1% percent (1 in 1000) of researchers in the world. Finally, he is consultant to Venture Capital firms providing technical and scientific advice that specializes in early-stage investments in healthcare and life science-based companies.
